| The Dubai Chess & Culture Club organizes Dubai
Open Chess Championship under the auspices of H.H.Sheikh
RASHID BIN HAMDAN AL MAKTUM
This championship will be inaugurated on April every
year with a record number of entries from 44 countries
and 56 Grand masters. Among the title holders 18 players
are super Grand masters and have an International ELO
rating of over 2600 points. Since its inception yearly
from 1999 . The Dubai open has been considered at part
to the big Swiss open tournaments held in Open chess
championships.
Over 160 players from 44 Countries are expected to
take part in this prestigious event which will be held
under the Swiss System of 9 rounds.
The custody of Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum
CUP is the Challenge Trophy of the DUBAI OPEN CHESS
CHAMPIONSHIP, the Champion player will be awarded the
custody of Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Cup.
The event attracts the best talents of the world is
the biggest chess event in the Arabia and has a cash
prize of us dollars 40000 US$ [forty
Thousand Only] Special prizes for local
players U.S. $ 5000.
Grandmaster will be favorite with
a Top ELO rating expected to defend his championship
title. A stiff challenge is to be spear headed by European
Team and members of the won the chess championship have
confirmed their participation. The tournament will show
case the best talents in the West and East and will
be a rare opportunity for the UAE Chess players and
the Gulf Chess players to engage in chess battles with
the professional chess champions.

Since this is the first time the Dubai Chess &
Culture Club supervises the Dubai Open Chess Championship,
the Club has resolved that there be collaboration and
having the championship sponsored by international and
local establishments operating in Dubai. The aim from
that step is to spread the benefit of marketing and
media coverage regarding these establishments and give
them the opportunity to take part in this outstanding
event which is supported by more than one public and
international establishments.
